Your rate does not go up with age and you are always eligible as long as you remain a member of the Guard. Your family is covered under the Family Group Life Insurance (FGLI). Your spouse is eligible for up to $100,000 at various rates depending on age and your children under 18 are covered for $10,000 at no charge!!! Guard members can use these facilities at the same discounted rates as regular service members...and to get there, you can take advantage of free space-available trips on military flights. Military retirement benefits are available after only twenty years of service and retirement isn't necessarily that far off!
